What to Order from Qdoba

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Well right off the bat, I have to say…I LOVE food!!! For me, food is fabulous.  So when it comes to ordering, I have a style all my own.  I have been on a Qdoba kick for about a year now, and as I love the same things, I have not been afraid to try some new and different things.

On a ‘normal’ day I tend to go for the old stand-by, the chicken burrito.  I start out with the flour tortilla, extra lime-cilantro rice and no beans.  I personally just don’t care for beans, although you do have the black or pinto option.

Along with the chicken I decide on, there is also steak, seasoned shredded beef, or ground sirloin, and again I’m just a chicken kinda person. But don’t fret if you’re a vegetarian, they have that option as well.

As I head over to the selection of salsas, I tend to gravitate towards the corn salsa.  It is advertised as medium, but I find it is more on the mild side.  For those who can’t decide, they offer a range of sauces and salsas for any range of tastes.  From mild to hot they are all great.  NOW, if you really wanna make your burrito special, add some of that 3-cheese queso to your order and you can see a small glimpse into happiness!!

Now, to my burrito I also add sour cream and lettuce, no reason other than I just want them in there. Now as far as cheese goes, if I’m getting the 3-cheese queso, I pass on any additional cheese, but if not, sure slap some in there.

As we come to the end of the line, you can also add some chips and salsa to your order, or the famed chips and 3- cheese queso. They also carry a small selection of bottled drinks, including a few types of beers, but as I’m always there for lunch, I don’t partake.

All there’s left to do is sit back and enjoy the Qdoba experience.

A Salad Creation - Day 8

Monday, May 7th, 2007

“What do I want for lunch?”, I ask myself.
“A hamburger?”, I suggest.
“No”, I reply.
“A chicken sandwich?”, I suggest again.
“Boring!”, I sigh.
“How about another hot dog?”, I say as I throw my hands up giving up on finding an answer.
“No I’m thinking something on the lighter side. Let’s go for a salad.”
Finally the answer I’d been waiting for.

The decision was made and I also opted to go somewhere I’d been before, but this time for something new - Wendy’s. They have four different big salads. I will have to try them all.

Tacos and Fries? Day 4

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

A newer fast food restaurant has sprouted up in our area. It’s called Del Taco. I first learned about them when someone brought in a bag of tacos for breakfast. I think they are like the new and improved Taco Bell. Or at least they price their tacos the way Taco bell used too. If you don’t get a drink you could probably eat for under $2.

Something that sets them apart from most other fast food mexican restaurants is they serve fries with their combos. It’s a funny combination, but they aren’t too bad together. I think their combos are pretty filling. I tried a combo that I hadn’t had before today.

DelTaco

The #5 Combo
1 Chicken Soft Taco
1 Big Chicken Taco
Fries
32 Oz Iced Tea

Total Cost: $5.60

Now, I’m going to rant about drink cup sizes. You can’t say small, medium or large anymore, because what means small to one place mean large to another. The representation of size needs to be standardized again! We should write our congressman! No wonder why when you ask for a small amount of sour cream or a large helping of spaghetti sauce you never know what you are going to get. This random cup size for a medium drink has made our world haywire!
